if you’re a gay/bi man you should feel empathy and concern for lesbian experience and liberation. if you’re cis and LGB you should feel empathy and concern for trans experience and liberation. if you’re a trans man you should feel empathy and concern for trans women’s experience and liberation. if you’re white and LGBT you should feel empathy and concern for LGBT POC experience and liberation. if you’re financially comfortable and LGBT you should feel empathy and concern for poor LGBT experience and liberation. i could go on all day. if you don’t, what does community mean to you?
it’s like super fucked up that a teenage boy who wears makeup for a living has become the target of ceaseless, aggressive, widespread harassment, and everybody pretends it’s completely justified (as if literally anything “problematic" a literal child could have said or done would warrant this endless barrage of concentrated hate) and not just the socially sanctioned opportunity to bully the fuck out of an effeminate gay kid that it so obviously is
consider taking white twinks off a pedestal and understanding that male gender nonconformity has been performed publicly by men of colour for decades and sometimes when someone gets made fun of or called out they like just deserve it
not to mention how he’s like unapologetically mainstreamed and profited off of black and more specifically black lgbt culture considering aave makes up like a solid half of his “brand”
Not to mention a white man getting rightfully criticized for being racist is not “aggressive ceaseless harrassment” and it’s interesting how these criticisms are being described as that when Black and brown LGBT people are the main ones being vocal about their criticisms but you know whiteness has an egregious way of painting people of color as aggressive for daring to voice an opinion against a white person of any sort of marginalization 🤷🏾♀️
also u all know that the manic pixie dream girl trope is supposed 2 be a discussion about male wish fulfillment and misogyny in storytelling not a new way 2 ridicule girls right
I can’t believe Spider-Man defeated not one but TWO Disney films and grabbed the Golden Globe
Oh my goodness I’m so happy *ugly sobbing*
People don’t understand why this is a big deal.
Disney has a stranglehold on animation. Ya’ll remember when Frozen came out? Well when it won the Oscar for best-animated film, it was revealed that the people voting didn’t watch any of the other films. Frozen only won because of it’s brand name. For Spiderverse to defeat two Disney films is big because not only does it prove that animated movies feature people of color can be successful but it’s also showing that other animation companies have a chance.
friendly reminder that pets’ bodies do not handle fat the same way human bodies do. obesity in animals often greatly reduces their life span. also, body positivity does not to apply to your pets, so discussing the dangers of them being obese is not “body shaming” them
if you have a pet that is morbidly obese due to overfeeding, you are actively participating in animal neglect at best by failing to provide them with the appropriate diet
stop acting like concern over an animal’s obesity is in any way similar to body shaming humans
I think we should also discuss how people projecting body image issues on qnimals has caused many animals to be bred smaller, thinner and is actively causing some people to give their pets less for “to lose weight” when they are a perfect weight
Lets stop projecting human body ideas on animals and go with info we have. Human fat is a lot different then other animal fat.
Humans are designed to keep on fat to store energy. Cats and dogs are not designed like that.
Listen to your vet, if it sounds sketchy go to another get and get another opinion.
